Personal empowerment & having your voice heard in decisions about cancer care

LLSC was invited to participate in the Blood Cancer Awareness Month 2025 editorial in The Globe and Mail by Eli Lilly Canada.

“Our objective at LLSC is really to empower people so they can gain a sense of control and have their voices heard in decisions about their care or the care of their loved one,” says Nadine Prévost, Executive Director, Research and Community Support, LLSC.

“Receiving a blood cancer diagnosis can be particularly difficult to absorb because it’s a complex cancer involving multiple types of blood cells and the immune system, and most of us don’t have a detailed understanding of how our blood cells and immune system work,” she adds. Prévost urges Canadians impacted by a blood cancer to reach out to LLSC early in the process to get informed and equipped for the weeks and months ahead.
