New Canadians now have easier access to LLSC resources and support

Adjusting to life in a new country can be challenging, and facing a blood cancer diagnosis can add an extra layer of complexity. New Canadians now have easier access to information about blood cancer, as well as free programs and services offered by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC).

The Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI) has partnered with LLSC to provide valuable information and links at two of their websites serving newcomers..

At New Youth.ca, LLSC resources specifically designed for young people dealing with a blood cancer are described and linked to.

At Settlement.org, LLSC resources specifically designed for caregivers of a loved one with a blood cancer are described and linked to.

LLSC is very pleased to partner with organizations, such as OCASI, supporting immigrants to Canada who face additional obstacles on top of a blood cancer diagnosis. Obstacles like an unfamiliar healthcare system, extended family potentially in another country, and language barriers. (Did you know LLSC can connect individuals with information specialists working in 170 languages?)
