Returning to work after cancer may not be what you expected

This article is part of a series being published this month in The Globe and Mail to recognize Blood Cancer Awareness Month.

Life after cancer looks different for every individual, including a return to work - if that is even possible.

Research funded by a LLSC Blood Cancer Quality of Life Grant looks at how many people who have an allogeneic stem cell transplant as treatment for blood cancer are able to return to work; and what role working can play in a cancer survivor's experience.

Tom Wong, shown here in Toronto, needed two years to recover from blood cancer and its treatment before returning to work. His story is featured in this article.
